Our world is no stranger to danger when it comes to doing business. Fraud, bribery, corruption, cybercrime, money laundering have now become buzzwords - the reality is that the magnitude and impact of corporate or individual misconduct cannot be ignored anymore.

 

The rise in such cases has also led to the formation of anti-fraud professionals who unswervingly investigate and uncover perpetrators of white collar crimes. They are proactively or even reactively help manage investigations and mitigate risks around fraud, bribery and corruption.

 

With an intent to applaud these professionals, Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE) Western Region Chapter, in association with EY Fraud Investigation & Dispute Services (FIDS) has created a unique platform to determine the most promising forensic professional in India through the Forensic Trailblazer Award. This flagship award will uncover India’s best talent in the larger forensic ecosystem through a first of its kind competition for professionals in India.

 

The winner will also be awarded with an all-expense paid trip* to a global conference!

The competition will be relevant from individuals from business functions such as finance, accounts, risk, legal, compliance, HR, law, audit, audit, security, operations, technology, law enforcement etc. The criteria for nomination is as follows:
    1. Age group - 25 to 50 years
    2. Employment: Currently employed either with a corporate, law firm, public sector unit, or law enforcement agency in India
    3. Work experience: Minimum three years
    4. Educational qualification: graduate or above (bachelor’s degree or equivalent)
    5. Nationality: Indian

Please note that individuals from consultancies/ audit firms are not eligible to take part in this competition

 

Entry fees
Individuals can pay INR 1500/- as early bird registration fees. These will be accepted from 20 July to 31 July 2016.
From 1 August 2016, registration fees will be INR 2000/-. The submissions close by 2 September 2016.

Our eminent panel of judges possess significant experience in the field of investigations and enforcement. They will assess the results of all candidates participating in this competition.

    1. Who can participate? Is there an eligibility criteria?
    The competition is open to individuals only. The criteria for nominations is as follows:
      • Age group - 25 to 50 years
      • Employment: currently employed with an entity in India
      • Work experience: minimum three years
      • Educational qualification: graduate or above (bachelor’s degree or equivalent)

    The competition will be relevant from individuals from business functions such as: Finance Accounts, Risk, Legal, Compliance, HR, Law, Audit, Security, Operations, Technology, Law enforcement etc.

 

    3. Can individuals at law firms apply?
    Yes, they are eligible to participate.

 

    4. Can individuals at audit or accountancy firms (Big4 and others) apply?
    No, employees at audit firms are not eligible to participate.

 

    5. Can individuals working at government entities (banks, law enforcement etc.) apply?
    Yes, they are eligible to participate.

 

    6. What is the cost to enter the competition?
    We have a nominal fee per individual entry (INR 1500/- early bird and INR 2000/- later on). Download our brochure for all details.

 

    7. Is there any early bird discount?
    Yes, registration fees before 31 July 2016 will be INR 1500/-. Post 1 August 2016, a fee of INR 2000/- will be applicable per entry.

 

    8. How can I enter the competition?

    The assessment will take place through a two-stage process at the EY office. The participants will need to complete a questionnaire followed by a case study.

    Yes, the competition will involve technical and practical knowledge related to forensic investigations.

      13. Can I take part in the competition online from home / any other location?
      No, candidates will have to be present in person at the venue to take part in the competition. Individuals not from the cities listed above can travel at their own cost.

     

      14. How much time will be given for the competition?
      You will be provided three hours to work on the questionnaire and case study

     

      15. What can I carry along with me for the competition?
      Please carry your id card (Pan card/ Passport/ Driver’s license/ Aadhar card/ Voter’s ID) at the venue. All material related to the competition will be provided to you at the venue itself. You will not be allowed to keep any mobile phones or bags with you during the course of the competition.

     

      16. Who will judge the competition?
      We have an esteemed panel of judges who will assess the results of all candidates.

      18. Can my organization pay for the entry fee on my behalf?
      Yes, the payment can be made directly by your company or in an individual capacity.

     

      19. When and where will the winners be announced?
      The winners will be announced and felicitated at an award ceremony in Mumbai, which will be attended by their peers and industry stalwarts.

     

      20. What will the winner receive?
      The winner will acknowledged as ‘Forensic Trailblazer’, the only accolade awarded in the corporate forensic space in India. It will also recognize the winner as a force to be reckoned with, a frontrunner in the race to battle white collar crimes. In addition, EY and ACFE will send the individual to a prestigious conference abroad. This will include a pass to the conference, to and from flights from India, meals and accommodation.

     

      21. Will individuals (besides the winner) get an acknowledgement of participating in the competition?
      The panel will acknowledge the second and third runners up. All other candidates will receive a certificate of participation.

  • EY and ACFE reserves the right to deny application to any individual
  • The award shall be forfeited if the winning individual has provided false information
  • Individuals from consultancies/ audit/ accountancy firms are not eligible to take part in this competition
  • No late entries will be considered if the deadline is missed
  • The judging panel’s decision is final and will not be disputed/ no correspondence made once the results are declared
  • EY and ACFE shall not be responsible for the individual at the overseas location, if they miss any flights etc.
  • The prize for the winner shall be paid for in advance – EY and ACFE are not liable to bear any additional costs on behalf of the individual. Prizes cannot be encashed.
